Christmas Day

What a great day! When we got up, Nonee came over to eat breakfast and open presents. Santa brought Brynlie a Ms. Potato Head, beads to lace into necklaces, some traveling toys, Monkey house shoes, and a microphone! I gave Bryn, with the help of many others a playroom for Christmas. It's still under construction but we're almost there. I'll post pictures when it's complete and together, these are just a preview :) Papa Roy and Grammy bought a table and chairs for the playroom, Nonee bought a bean bag and books for the reading area, and Gigi and KK have spent many hours helping me paint. After presents this morning we went to serve lunch to the needy at The Salvation Army, but unfortunately they cancelled Christmas dinner due to the flooding so we headed to the hospital to spend some time with Uncle Tom and Aunt Narcie, then it was off to Christmas dinner at Uncle Don's house. We are stuffed and tired, maybe I should be taking a late evening nap with her!! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. We are very much so looking foward to 2010 and hope you are too!!

We painted a chalk board on the wall, it was a big hit this morning!

This will be the reading corner, fabric will be pulled back and bean bag in corner.

Santa Tutu

I made this tutu just to have some pictures taken in. She loved wearing it, but insisted I make her bear a tutu to wear during the photo shoot. I didn't think that was too much to ask, so I was happy to oblige my little angel. Thanks to KK for helping with the super model during the shoot!

Two Year Old Pictures

Eric couldn't of done a better job, once again! There will be a couple other poses posted on his website.

Boyfriends Birthday

Bryn went to her boyfriends birthday party on Saturday. His name is Noah, they met at the gym when they were just infants. LOL. He had a camo themed birthday party and everyone came dressed in their camo's. Of course, Big Daddy (aka Randy) took her to Harmon Outdoors to get her fitted for the party. The kids had a blast eating hot dogs, cupcakes and taking four wheeler rides. Unfortunately, Noah was afraid of the Mr. Potato we picked out as a gift. She had so much fun she passed out as soon as it was over!

Christmas Carnival

Preston and Brynlie went to the Christmas carnival at church this Satruday. They both had a great time playing games and petting the lambs, goats, and bunnies in the petting zoo. Usually Brynlie loves to get in the big blow up houses and slides but she was scared this time for some reason. She had fun dancing and singing to the Christmas music while Preston jumped.

"Noman"

Brynlie has been so funny with her babies lately. As soon as she gets up and dressed in the morning she is tending to one or more of her babies. She will put them nite nite, tell me they want candy to eat (tonight it was cheese), change a diaper...she lays them down and says "baby poop." When I put the snowman out a couple weeks ago she now talks to him, drags him around, and kisses him bye every morning. She was playing patty cake with him tonight, so I grabbed the camera for a quick video. Her speech is wonderful, she is saying 3-4 word sentences and repeating everything. It caught my attention in WalMart the other day when I responded to the price of something with "holy crap" and a little voice from the basket shouted "holy cap" Ooopps! It could be worse!

A Visit to Santa

We went to the Benton Christmas parade earlier this week. She waited patiently for the parade to start and enjoyed watching it. She was very excited to see Santa...she kept saying "Hi, Ca Cause" BUT as we were walking up the steps to sit on Santa's lap she started squeezing me harder and saying "no, Ca Cause" I coaxed her into it, sat her on his lap and RAN!! She did GREAT!
She's now in a big girl booster at the dinner table with Mommy. No more highchair. I love it, but it makes me sad she's big enough to sit at the dinner table with me. I wish I could say the picture with black teeth was oreo's...but no, she's into eating crayons right now...this one was black! We are still battling bedtime. The other night as she was making her nightly trip into my room at 2:00 am she decided she wasn't sleepy anymore and played for 2 hours in the middle of the night!! REALLY! When I dropped her off at GiGi's, I said I might not be back for a day or so! Nonee....PLEASE come home soon!

Happy Thanksgiving

Playroom 1-2-3

I fixed up a playroom for Brynlie. I had 3 emotions come over me when I was done. 1.) I was happy to have my living room/kitchen/bedroom/master bath back! 2.) I was a little embarrassed the 2 of us could fill up every inch of a four bedroom house, however the house has started looking REALLY good! 3.) For the first time....I'm not concerned about where I'm going to put all of Santa's goodies! I taught Brynlie how to say "Bring It, Santa" I wish I would remember to hold the camera right when videoing, but this one was too cute....had to share it. Oh, yes....if you are wondering about the potty training...it was a NO GO. It was easy to talk myself out of sticking to it when I realized any strides she might gain would probably be lost while enjoying the long holiday weekend.

Take 2

We made a stop at Target tonight on the way home. We got a baby that potty's, Elmo's Potty Time DVD, and new Elmo panties that Brynlie picked out all by herself! I also officially started Christmas shopping, I love it when you can do that with the child right there in the cart. When we got home I put the DVD on, let her put on a new pair of her panties, and showed her how her baby used the potty. She was sitting on her potty watching her movie when low and behold SHE POTTIED!!!! Even though it was through her panties I was excited! We might not be able to leave the house for the entire weekend since this is on the agenda, but I really think she's ready. I'm also really hoping she'll be back to sleeping in her own bed all night by the end of the weekend. So....wish us luck (or maybe say a prayer for my sanity)!! She's doing good with colors, she knows blue and pink and can count to 10 better in Spanish than she can in English (repeating the numbers).

Moisturizer and Lipstick

I've successfully managed to put Bryn to bed in her own bed every night for 5 nights now. I have to sit in her room until she falls asleep and one night I had to put her back in bed SEVERAL times, but it's not been too bad. Unfortunately she doesn't stay there. When she gets up in the middle of the night I've tried to start over, put her back in her bed and sit with her until she falls back asleep but it's a little more difficult for me in the middle of the night! I don't mind her sleeping with me it's the mornings that have become difficult since I don't have anytime to get through the morning without a 2 year old reeking havoc! Last week she kept taking stuff out of the bathroom drawers and disappearing, by the time I got out of the shower she was back and I could tell something was in her mouth. I told her to spit it out and put my hand underneath her chin. She opened her mouth for me to find a huge glob of moisturizer cream, so thick I had to scrape it out with my finger. She's also found gum in my purse while I was trying to get ready and this morning it was LIPSTICK!! Thankfully she's so proud of herself she comes to show me what she's done! So either I take the hard road and get her back in her bed or I'm just going to start getting up about 5:00 am so I can get through some of my morning alone!

Comments

Finally got the comments fixed....you should be able to leave one now.

Little This and That

After spending two years with Bodie....she finally tried some of his food! She started wiping her tongue on GiGi's leg afterwards. YUCK! Her speech is still improving greatly each week. I was putting a sweater (as a jacket) on her last week and she started saying "no, mommy, eww eww" Frequently I have to tell her to show me because I don't know what she's saying. She took me to the coat rack and pointed to her monkey jacket, but she won't say monkey! She does the same in the bath tub with her toy ducks, she just says quack, quack when she see's one or picks it up to play with it. At least now I know when she's saying "eww eww" she wants either her monkey jacket or monkey pj's. Speaking of pj's her sleeping habits have went down the toilet! I feel like I'm dealing with an infant again! She's up way too late and up way to early since sleeping with me. She used the "I want milk" as a stalling method for the fist time last night. Most of the time she'll stay in bed in the mornings if I turn cartoons on for her or will just get up and play in bed or grab a book while I'm getting ready. Monday morning I was in the shower and looked down to see buck naked Brynlie standing at the shower door saying "Bryne bat" Call me selfish, but I need just an hour or so at night and again in the morning before I have to put my "single mommy of a two year old" skills to work! So I'm fixin' to put the smackdown on some sleeping habits around here! Since she's been taking her diaper off by herself all the time lately, I'm pretty sure we are going to try potty training again soon. Just trying to figure out which is more important....the sleeping or the potty training, because I'm only going to work on one at a time!

Halloween

Brynlie had a blast! We started out at a little carnival at a church with Nonee, GiGi, Christy and Tatum. I posted a video of her doing the cake walk. I know I'm bias, but seriously my kid is hilarious! We ventured out for trick-or-treating when it got dark. She tried to say trick-or-treat and preferred giving the person answering the door a piece of candy from her bag instead of the other way around. She loved all the decorations, saying "Hi and Bye" to all the ghosts and pumpkins. I think shes coined the term "Cute As A Bug!" I had a GREAT evening with my little "punkin."

Pumpkin Patch and Boo at the Zoo

It was a big day for Brynlie! We started the morning at the pumpkin patch. She loved sticking her head in the funny poses, she played in the hay, went on a hay ride, ran through a maze, and picked out a pumpkin. That night we went to Boo at the Zoo with cousins. She had her first carousel ride and loved it. She had fun handing the tickets over for candy at each one of the booths. It was a great day celebrating Halloween!! I can't wait to go trick-or-treating with my little Minnie Mouse next weekend!

Sit & Spin

Finally...a month later she's mastered the Sit & Spin! She's saying "I did it" in the video. Unfortunately every time I get the camera out she stops what she's doing to look at the picture window. I tried telling her it's broke, but she's smarter than that. We've got a big weekend planned at the Pumpkin Patch and Boo at the Zoo on Saturday, and Family Farm (if we have enough energy left) on Sunday! Whew! So I should have lots of pictures in the next few days to post. We had a bad storm a couple weeks ago and Brynlie wandered into my room for the first time in the middle of the night, of course, I told her to hop in....and 2 weeks later I've not yet tried to break the cycle. Everyone tells me it's normal for this age and to not fight it.
I'm not sure if this is going to equate to a broken bed or a broken arm! This girl needs to be in some gymnastics classes!

Sea World in San Antonio Labor Day Weekend

We went to San Antonio over Labor Day weekend for a much needed get-a-way! Thanks Bree, I will always be thankful for your generosity! We went to Sea World and did some shopping. We were able to relax and play with the kids quite a bit too. Even though we had delays on the way to SA and the way home, Brynlie did great on her first airplane ride! We only stayed a few hours at Sea World, which we thought was pretty good considering we took 2 two year olds :) They fed the dolphins, watched a killer whale show...Shamu would not come out and preform for us, but the other ones were awesome to watch. We tried to get them on a kiddie roller coaster, but they told us they were too little. After playing in the water park a bit it was time to head home for a N-A-P, which I don't think either of them napped the whole weekend. Boston and Brynlie had a ball together....and so did their Mommy's.
