Life with a 2 Year Old

Sunday morning I sat Bryn infront of the tv with a pop tart so I could shower, when I got out and checked on her she had painted her leg with the jelly from the pop tart. I cleaned her up and replaced it with dry cheerio's. I went back to do my make-up and hair and when I checked on her again this is what I found, and yes she was eating them!

When we got home from church she went out back to play. She came in shortly and said she had to potty. I took her dress off and to the laundry room for spray-n-wash, by the time I walked back through the living to change her clothes this is where I found her.

She loves playing out back! She's done such a good job of putting up Rhea Lana season, I'm going to look for her a swing set when we get back from the sale as my little prize for her! I'm so blessed to have such a good baby girl, especially with what she's been put through this past year. Speaking of Rhea Lana, I got her some killer clothes last week! A Juicy Couture swimming suit, Baby Lulu, Tralala, unique handmade clothes...all my usual favorite finds. I think this was my favorite set of clothes so far from there! I've missed her so much lately even though she's still right under my feet, it's just I've had to leave one job to come home and start working on the other. One day, when I only have to tell her twice a year "sorry, Mommy's got to work" it'll all be worth it! I know it'll be here before we know it! It's only by the grace of God I have the energy and sanity to make it through each day with a full time job, running a thriving franchise and raising a two year old all while flying solo!!
Now that it's staying lighter longer I'm looking foward to getting back out with the jogging stroller, she will let me go for a good 45 minutes, she loves riding in the stroller. The only part she could do without is my singing, she says "mommy, dop sinin" LOL, she's only 2 how does she already know I can't carry a tune to save my life??!!
She's able to count to 10 now!!! We are working on our ABC's and she once again amazed at gymnastics last week when she hung from the uneven bars and pulled her feet up to put her toes on the bar! Between Mommy being on live t.v. last week and her unreal ablility at gymnastics....we prefer to call each other.....SUPER STAR!

My Future Olympian

Brynlie is doing great in gymnastics. She is the only one who can hold herself up by her arms on the uneven bars. She's the best one on the trampoline in the class and this week she amazed us all doing a bear crawl across the parallel bars. She excels in more complicated tasks in class, yet cannot figure out that she needs to tuck her chin to her chest to do a foward roll! It's hard to get pictures in class because she's in a "Mommy and Me" class, meaning I'm on the floor through the whole class assisting (or chasing) her!

She's done so good with her manners. She is saying "thank you" on her own and often. She says "duse me", which is excuse me and bless you. I don't think I've ever heard a 2 year old with manners like hers. She's still plenty of a TWO year old, she now tells me she needs things "Pees, Mommy....I need it" This usually applies to candy and paci's.
I've been hiking Pinnacle mountain with a co-worker once a week for several weeks now and absolutely love it!! With my fear of hieghts, I'm pretty proud of myself. While at the top I don't walk around or move much and I cannot look up any while I'm coming down, but I keep testing myself and will glance up a few time on the way down. I wish I could just stop and take in the scenery coming down the mountain, because it's gorgeous, but that's okay I'll get there one day. Here's a picture from the top.

Valentine's and Words of Love

We had a great trip to Kansas. Bryn came home worn out from playing and me from working!! As you can see Bryn got lots of goodies for Valentine's Day. In the last couple weeks she has started saying "I wuv u, Mommy" on her own and that has been the best Valentines I could of received....talk about your heart melting in 1/2 a second!! She's been telling Gigi too.
As we were hanging out in the restroom patiently waiting for a bowel movement Brynlie looked up at me and started saying, in the sweetest voice "I wike pitza, I wike cake, I wike Go-Go." When she started on her list she began staring off into space like she was really thinking hard about everything she liked!! I couldn't do anything but laugh.
Everything with Rhea Lana's is moving right along. Corporate RL rolled out a new website and I'm proud to say that MY saying I made up last year of "Spend Thrifty, Shop Trendy" was trademarked and is on every page of the new website!!!

Spoiled Much???? Surrounded by Valentine presents....this does not count all the CANDY!!

SNOW!!!

We got 6+ inches of snow in yesterday. It was really pretty! We tried to make a snowman but the snow was already too hard from the rain freezing on top of the snow. Brynlie was perfectly happy just eating it. She was mad because she wasn't big enough to break through the snow while walking like I was doing. It was so hard she just stood on top of it, but would stand there and scream "PUSH" trying to break through! She would of played out there all day if I would of let her.
Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can still head to Kansas on Friday. Maybe we'll just build our snowman there.

Uncle Tom

We attended Uncle Tom's funeral on February 3rd. It was a nice service with many in attendance. You could really tell how many people loved him. He will be dearly missed! One of Uncle Toms friends had brought him a huge monkey as a get well present and Aunt Narcie wanted Brynlie to have it. Thank you Aunt Narcie, we feel really special to be given something of his and will always keep it. Brynlie LOVES him, even though he is as big as she is, she drags him around like a baby doll. He has to sit next to her to watch t.v., she wants him to sit at the dinner table while she eats, and she enjoys reading to him and putting him nite nite. Its super cute to watch her with this big ole' monkey!!

Brynlie's Language

Bryn's speech therapist said she would be done working with her by the end of the month. YEA, Brynlie! Before her speech becomes perfect I wanted to get a little bit of her language documented. Up until last week she has thought her last name was Harmon, actually she thought every body's last name was Harmon. Of course, GiGi was eating it up, but I guess her speech therapist got a hold of her and they worked on her real name.

The Playroom

The playroom is done....FINALLY!!! This was my big Christmas present to Brynlie, with contributions from Papa Roy, Grammy, Nonee, Gigi and KK. Gena and I painted on this room and furniture for countless hours over the weekends. I will admit it got a little out of hand, well maybe more than a little!
Dad and Janet will be visiting soon so I went ahead and converted Brynlie's toddler bed to a full size bed. Every time I do something like that it upsets me! I walk into that room now and it looks like a big girl lives here! With the big bed and out of diapers, I've decided I'm going to let her keep her paci until she starts Kindergarten! I don't care if people point and stare in Target. I was joking with Gena that she'll probably come home and say she wants to sleep in her new bed and this time around it'll be me saying "No, Mommy's bed." She's just growing up too fast. Thankfully she is the sweetest, prettiest, smartest, and funniest little girl I've ever laid my eyes on and I am so blessed to be her Mommy.
Her gymnastics coach told me on Monday night at class that she is exceptionally smart for her age, and the other mom's were telling me how strong she is. She really does have upper body strength that is obvious when she's on the bars and rings. We went over to watch the big girls do a cheer/dance routine at the end of our class and guess who was right up there on the front line dancing and clapping for the big girls! I laugh at her every single day! When she is not with me, I honestly feel like a piece of me is missing.
I took her to Hospice Saturday morning to meet Aunt Janice and Uncle Johnny for the first time. She provided some well needed comic relief for the deep sadness everyone is facing with Uncle Tom's health. Between Friday night and Saturday the entire family was together. He still recognizes us, he held my hand and reached up to touch Brynlie.
